At Call of Duty Direct, Activision Blizzard confirmed it will launch Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and gave us a glimpse of everything that's coming to one of the most popular video game franchises of all time. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the upcoming game is set in the aftermath of the Cold War era. Activision says the "spy action thriller" mixes stealth-based gameplay with action across Russia, the Middle East, the United States and southern Europe. COD Black Ops 6 Campaign Following the events of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, the new game takes place in the years after the Cold War and is connected to the flashbacks of Black Ops 2. Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will feature familiar faces like Frank Woods and Russell Adler, who will be joined by two new characters, Troy Marshall and Jane Harrow. Activision says Woods and Marshall will go rogue and will be forced to build a new team, which will introduce us to new faces like Felix Neumann and Sevati Dumas. Mixing stealth with intense action, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 campaign missions "gives you the freedom to navigate through them as you see fit." From combat to conversations, the story will have different outcomes depending on the choices you make. The upcoming title will also bring back some old gadgets like the Remote Controlled Explosive Device, Tranquilizer Trap, Homing Knife and Adrenaline Stim. Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Call of Duty Black Ops 6 multiplayer game mode is also getting a lot of attention this time, with some multiplayer exclusive features also finding their way to Campaign and Zombie mode. Activision says it is redefining movement across the entire game", with players now able to sprint, slide and dive in any direction and combine them. The developers have also added a new supine-prone mode, letting players rotate a full 360 degrees Activision is also adding some new movement features like Intelligent Movement, which will have three categories - Sprint Assist, Mantle Assist and Crouch Assist that aim to reduce the number of buttons you have to press to perform various movement combos. Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is getting 16 new multiplayer maps at launch, which include 12 Core 6v6 maps and Strike Maps that can either be played 2v2 or 6v6. Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombie mode The upcoming Call of Duty game will also see the return of the popular Zombie mode, which lets you shoot an increasingly difficult set of undead zombies. The much-anticipated game mode is also getting two new maps - Liberty Falls and Terminus along with the usual secrets players have known for more than a decade. Call of Duty Black Ops 6 price and launch date Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will be available for purchase starting October 25 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and the Xbox Series X. Microsoft has also confirmed that the upcoming title will be available for Game Pass subscribers on day one. While Xbox players will get the Digital Cross-Gen Bundle, PC players are limited to the Standard version of the game, but everyone is eligible for the Woods Operator Pack and open beta early access pre-order benefits.
