Xbox head Phil Spencer has confirmed that Call of Duty titles will be coming to Game Pass, the video game giant’s subscription service that lets you play the latest titles the day they go on sale.

short article insert Following Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard in October last year, gamers were eager to see Call of Duty on Xbox Game Pass. However, the Xbox boss said they wouldn’t be able to do so because they were unable to complete the groundwork for bringing Activision games to Game Pass.

But in a recent interview with Stephen Totilo of Game File, Spencer said that Activision Blizzard’s flagship franchise is indeed coming to the Xbox Game Pass, but did not share any information on when the titles will be available.

Moreover. it is still unclear if Microsoft will bring new Call of Duty titles to Xbox Game Pass or if the company will also bring existing games. While Activision is yet to reveal this year’s Call of Duty, we can assume that it will be available to Game Pass subscribers on day one.

Rumour has it that the upcoming Call of Duty game is being developed by Treyarch Studios and will be set in the 1990s in the Middle East when the region was torn by the Gulf War.

Spencer revealed that the gaming giant is working to bring the “full portfolio of games” from Activision Blizzard, Xbox Game Studio and ZeniMax to Game Pass.

He went on to say that there is a lot of work to be done before it can bring Activision Blizzard games on Game Pass and that they are working on the back end to make these games work on both PCs and consoles.
