Dell announced its latest premium flagship gaming laptop, the Alienware x16 R2, on Friday. Powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 mobile graphics, it is currently one of the most capable gaming laptops in the country. Paired with a Cryo-tech cooling solution, which includes vapour chamber technology and a quad-fan design, this laptop utilises liquid thermal paste (Element 31) for faster heat dissipation. The base variant of the Alienware x16 R2 is priced at Rs 2,86,990. The laptop will be on sale across online and offline retail channels starting today. The Alienware x16 R2 features an upgraded 16-inch QHD+ (2K) resolution display with a 240Hz refresh rate and a modern 16:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, the laptop comes with an FHD web camera with IR sensors, which assists with Windows Hello face unlock. It also boasts modern connectivity features like Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3, and the laptop offers up to 32 GB RAM and the storage can be configured with up to 8 TB using both slots. Similar to earlier generation models, the Alienware x16 R2 comes with a metal chassis made out of anodised aluminium and magnesium alloy for added durability. This construction also contributes to the laptop's light weight (2.72KG), for its class. Dell refers to this design as "Legend 3 industrial design" and offers a per-key RGB keyboard and an RGB trackpad. Most of the ports are located at the back, giving the machine a sleek look. The graphics card can take up to 175W of power, and Dell is positioning this machine not just as a gaming laptop, but also for AI workloads with the combination of NPU on the CPU and the RTX 4090 graphics and it ships with a 360W adapter.
