Just days after announcing that Grand Theft Auto VI will now launch on May 26, 2026, Rockstar Games has released the second official trailer for the highly anticipated open-world action game, one of the most expensive titles ever made. Captured entirely on a PlayStation 5, the new footage offers a fresh look at the game’s richly detailed world, refined gameplay, and deeper narrative direction.

Vice City, in particular, looks more alive than ever, with crowded streets, glowing beaches, and intense action scenes making a strong impression.

The trailer kicks off with the line, “Just fixing some leaks,” a direct nod to the earlier content leaks that surfaced online ahead of the first trailer. Alongside the trailer, Rockstar has also dropped in-game character footage, several new screenshots, and even listed the title on the PlayStation Store, where fans can now add it to their wishlist.

It also gives us more time with the game’s lead characters, Lucia and her partner Jason, hinting at a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style storyline filled with heists, getaways, and commentary on American life, all wrapped in Rockstar’s signature satirical tone.

Visually, the PS5-captured trailer highlights major next-gen upgrades, from improved lighting and animations to incredibly detailed environments and character models. While Rockstar hasn’t detailed any platform-specific bonuses yet, the heavy PlayStation presence suggests Sony might have timed exclusives or other advantages.

GTA VI is slated for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC and Switch 2 version is still unconfirmed.
