Microsoft announced three new wraps for the Xbox Series X that lets gamers customise their gaming console. One of the plastic wraps is inspired by the recently launched limited edition Starfield-themed Xbox controller and headset. In case you don't like the white-coloured wrap, the company is offering two camo colours to choose from - Arctic Camo and Mineral Camo. Microsoft says the "wraps were designed specifically for Series X and have a custom, precision fit." Moreover, the console performance won't be affected since the wraps don't cover vents and include small feet which ensures that air flows freely. Unlike wraps from companies like D-brand which are basically stickers, the official Xbox Series X wraps stick to the console using velcro hooks and loop enclosure. According to Microsoft, the Starfield-inspired console wrap "reimagines your console as an on-board avionics module, powering you through your adventures". It has a soft touch and comes with tactile surface graphics on the outside whereas the inside is made from a soft fabric. The wrap also highlights internal components like the fan on top, the heatsink and the vapour chamber on the bottom. If you are not into Starfield, there are two camo wraps to choose from - Arctic and Mineral Camo, which match the existing Arctic and Mineral-themed controllers. The Starfield wrap will be available for $49.99 (approx. Rs 4,147) whereas the camo-inspired wraps will be launched on November 10 for $44.99 (approx. Rs 3,732). It looks like Microsoft plans to compete against Sony's recently launched custom side panel covers for the PlayStation 5.
