At the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2024, Tecno announced its first AR glasses called Tecno Pocket Go, which come with a console-quality controller powered by an AMD APU with Radeon 780M graphics.
The AR glasses consist of 0.71-inch Micro-OLED on each eyepiece with 0 to 600-degree diopter adjustment, offering a 215-inch large screen-like experience with support adjustment, and users with prescription glasses can also use Pocket Go.
As this is a Windows OS-powered device, it can run modern AAA titles and can also be used as a personal computer, running regular Windows apps without any issue. It is also touted as the world’s smallest AR handheld device with the largest vision.
The computing hardware is located inside the controller, which includes an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. According to the company, the CPU has a TDP of 35W and is equipped with eight CPU cores, sixteen threads with a higher clock speed of 5.1 GHz, and an active cooling solution, including a large fan and three copper pipes.
Tecno suggests that the Pocket Go can offer a 6D immersive gaming experience with support for features like vision tracking, adaptive posture, ultra-precise vibrations, audio vibration enhancement, and sensory sync. It also comes with a 50Wh easy-to-replace battery. As of now, there is no information on how much the handheld will cost or when it will launch. This is definitely one of the most unique-looking Windows devices that were announced at the ongoing MWC 2024.
