The Nintendo Switch 2, one of the most eagerly awaited gaming handhelds, could be revealed later this week. This information comes from renowned tipster NatetheHate and is supported by a recent report from the gaming outlet Video Game Chronicles. According to the tipster, the reveal trailer for the Switch 2 will go live on January 16 and focus on the hardware side of things, with another video showing the software features scheduled to release sometime in late February or early March. The gaming outlet also suggested that the new console will be accompanied by a new version of Mario Kart, which will then be followed by a 3D Mario game. As for third-party games, rumour has that the Switch 2 will reportedly get Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Assassin's Creed Mirage and Metal Gear Solid Delta. The new rumours about Switch 2's launch date also corroborate with Nintendo's plan to launch a new console before March 2025. Nintendo has a track record of revealing information about its upcoming products a few weeks before launch. If we take a look at the Switch, the gaming handheld was officially announced in October 2016 and hit markets five months later in March 2017. What it means is that if Nintendo unveils the Switch 2 this week, chances are pretty good that the company will launch it by June or July. In the last few weeks, leaks and rumours about Switch 2 have been circulating on the internet. At the centre of this was the Japanese accessory maker Genki, which showcased a 3D mockup of the upcoming console, which it later said was based off on rumours.
