Sony has announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will launch globally on the PlayStation 5 on October 20. The high-profile game has been developed by Insomniac Games, the studio behind Spider-Man Miles Morales and Spider-Man Remastered. Spider-Man 2 promises to bring improved visuals, faster web swings and 3D audio.
The game takes place around 10 months after the events of Miles Morales, indicating it might be set sometime in 2021. Sony says both characters will have exclusive stories and missions with some quests requiring them to team up.
Fan-favourite villains like Venom, Wraith, Taskmaster, Prowler, Tombstone, Shocker and the Lizard will also make an appearance. Earlier this year, the creative director of the game said that the main antagonist of the game will be ‘Kraven the Hunter.’ For the uninitiated, Kraven has no superhuman or mystical powers but is a hunter who has perfected the art of hunting.
In India, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available in two editions – Standard and Digital Deluxe. Regardless of the version, players who pre-order the title will get the Arachknight Suit for Peter Parker and ‘the Shadow Spider Suit for Miles Morales’ with 3 colour variants, Web Grabber gadget and 3 skill points.
The Digital Deluxe edition includes the base game, 10 unique suits (5 for Peter Parker and 5 for Miles Morales), 2 skill points, additional stickers and frames for Photo Mode and all pre-order incentives. Spider-Man 2 will be available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Direct and retailers starting June 16 with the Standard and Digital Deluxe versions priced at $69.99 (approx. Rs 5,770) and $79.99 (approx. Rs 6,595), respectively.
