Last month, Microsoft announced that it will soon be bringing the Xbox TV app to select Amazon Fire TV sticks, allowing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to enjoy the latest games on the big screen.
To play the latest titles available on Xbox Game Pass, all you need is a compatible Fire TV Stick alongside, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and a wireless controller. Microsoft says only the Fire TV Stick 4K and the Fire TV Stick 4K Max launched last year are compatible with the new Xbox app.
The tech
Microsoft had also said that Xbox Cloud Gaming will allow users to stream their existing game library, but that functionality has been delayed indefinitely. Moreover, the company also seems to have scrapped plans for its dedicated subscription-based Xbox Cloud Gaming and the much-rumoured Xbox cloud gaming console because of some pricing issues.
In December last year, Microsoft brought the Xbox Cloud Gaming app to Meta Quest users, allowing them to play titles like Forza Motorsport, Starfield and more on a big virtual screen. The service is also available on iOS, Windows 10-powered PCs and select Samsung Smart TVs. To give you a quick recap, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate currently costs Rs 549 per month whereas the Fire TV Stick 4K (review) can be purchased for Rs 5,999.
