GoPro, which recently launched its lightweight and compact HERO action camera, has introduced some new features. Users of the device can update their camera for free via GoPro’s app. The latest feature, 4:3 aspect ratio, utilises the sensor’s full height and width when filming. It is ideal for capturing ultra-immersive first-person perspectives, more engaging selfie shots, and taller videos that are better for sharing directly across social media. Users can also crop their 4:3 videos to a 16:9 aspect ratio to get a more traditional widescreen look. The new 4:3 ultrawide and tall video setting and 86-gram weight, the HERO is now the smallest, lightest, and widest-angle GoPro ever. The camera is priced at Rs 19,990. “The new, tiny HERO camera is so small and light it’s like an invisible camera that you forget is there. It’s brilliant for kids and experienced GoPro users alike,” said GoPro’s founder and CEO, Nicholas Woodman. “And with its new 4:3 ultra-wide video setting, HERO has become my favorite GoPro, ever,” Woodman added. Launched in September 2024, the HERO is the smallest and most affordable 4K camera with a screen from GoPro. The device weighs 86 g and comes with built-in mounting fingers. The camera is 35 per cent smaller and 46 per cent lighter than the Hero 13 Black. The tiny camera is also waterproof up to 16 ft (5 m). The device has been designed to record footage in snow, water, or even in mud. When it comes to features, the device sports an intuitive touch screen and single-button control. Other features include 4K Ultra HD, 1080p video, 12MP photos, and 2x slo-mo capabilities.
