At Computex 2024, Acemagic showcased its new dual-screen laptop with an unusual design. Unlike most dual-display laptops that come with a vertically-stacked screen, the Acemagic X1 features a 360-degree horizontally folding dual-screen design. This means you can either have two displays side by side or completely flip the screen in back-to-back mode so the person sitting in front of you can see the other display. While this may not sound intuitive, it can be useful for sharing presentations, playing games or watching movies. There are many dual-screen laptops available in the market, but most of them either don't have the same-sized secondary display or are vertically stacked. Powered by the 12th-generation Intel Core i7-1255U processor, the Acemagic X1 packs two 14-inch FullHD displays. Launched in 2022, the 15-watt, 10-core CPU might not be the fastest, but is surely better than the Intel chips powering the newest budget notebooks. It comes with 16GB dual channel DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB SSD storage. On the connectivity front, it packs two USB Type-C, one USB 3.0 Type-A and one HDMI 2.0 port, but one of the two USB-C ports is only meant for charging. During Computex, Acemagic said that the laptop supported Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and packed a 70.4Wh battery, but the company is yet to confirm these details. Moreover, it is still unclear if and when the Acemagic X1 will be available for purchase and how much it will cost, so we will have to wait a while for more details.
