Apple recently announced the new iMac and the redesigned Mac mini as part of its ongoing Mac-related announcements. Now, the tech giant has unveiled the new MacBook Pro models powered by the M4 series chips, the company's fastest and most advanced chips to date. The newly unveiled MacBook Pro comes in 14- and 16-inch screen sizes and is powered by the M4, M4 Pro and the M4 Max chipsets. While the new MacBook Pro looks and feels similar to its predecessor as Apple has made no significant changes to the design, it is more powerful in terms of both features and raw hardware performance. The base variant of the new MacBook Pro features the M4 chip, which has an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU and 16GB RAM, while the M4 Pro chip consists of a 14-core CPU with 10 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, a 20-core GPU that offers twice the performance compared to M4 and support for up to 64GB of unified memory. If you want even more power, the newly unveiled M4 Max chip brings up to a 16-core CPU, a 40-core GPU and up to 128GB of unified memory. Apple also said that the new MacBook Pro comes with an "all-new nano-texture display option", which, similar to Samsung's anti-reflective coating on the Galaxy S24 Ultra helps reduce glares and distractions caused by reflections. The new portable powerhouses can now go up to 1,000 nits in bright lighting conditions and have a peak brightness of 1,600 nits when watching HDR content. All new MacBook Pros now include a 12MP Center Stage camera that help in low light conditions and automatically keeps users centred in the frame even if they move around. Similar to the new Mac mini, you get three Thunderbolt 4 ports with the M4 version, while the M4 Pro MacBook Pro and M4 Max versions have three Thunderbolt 5 ports, which offer increased data transfer speeds. Other connectivity options include one HDMI port, an SDXC card slot, one MagSafe 3 port for charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As is the case with the latest Apple products, the new MacBook Pro also supports Apple Intelligence features. The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 chip starts from Rs 1,69,900 . If you are interested in the M4 Pro and M4 max variants, they start from Rs 1,89,900 and Rs 2,09,900 respectively. The new MacBook Pro is currently available for pre-order and can be purchased from the official Apple website and offline stores from November 8.
