With Qualcomm recently unveiling its ARM based Snapdragon X Elite series processors for Windows laptops, the competition has heated up in the last few months. In addition to getting better at AI tasks, getting OLED screens and lasting several hours before you need to plug them in, laptops have slowly started to replace desktops in some places.

Whether you are a creative professional or a coder that wants a powerful machine to work on the go, modern laptops can easily do it all. From Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro to Window Surface 10, here are some of the best laptops money can buy in 2024.

Featuring the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro comes paired with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics. It has a 16-inch 120Hz 3K AMOLED touchscreen that also supports S-Pen.

Similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series, the display features an anti-reflective cover glass that makes it easy to see the content on the screen even under direct sunlight. The laptop comes with up to 32GB RAM and 1GB internal storage.

The company claims that the Galaxy Book4 Ultra can last up to 21 hours on a single charge and can be charged up to 55 per cent in just 30 minutes using the 140W fast charger. On the connectivity front, you get one HDMI 2.1 port, a Thunderbolt 4 port, microSD card slow, one USB-A port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also featrures two AKG tuned 5W woofers and two 5W tweeters that also support Dolby Atmos. It starts from Rs 2,23,990.

If you don’t want to spend this much on a laptop or don’t need this much processing power, the Galaxy Book4 Pro and the Galaxy Book4 360 are good alternatives to the GalaxyBook4 Ultra.

LG Gram 17

LG Gram 17 is a lightweight laptop that does not compromise on performance. Featuring the 13th Gen Intel Evo i7-1360P processor paired with a 17-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. However, the screen’s refresh rate is limited to 60Hz.

It comes with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD storage and runs on Windows 11 Home out of the box. LG Gram 17 has a 80Wh battery which the comp[any claims offer 20 hours of non-stop video playback and weighs just 1.35kg. You can buy it from the LG website for Rs 1,40,990.

Apple MacBook Pro M3

The latest MacBook Pro comes with Apple’s newest M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max chips. The base version powered by the M3 chip features an octa-core CPU paired with a 10-core GPU and has a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display.

For connecting accessories, it has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one HDMI port, a SDXC card slot, one 3.5mm headphone jack and a Magsafe 3 port. You also get the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and a Force Touch trackpad. The 512GB storage variant of the MacBook Pro M3 (review) is priced at Rs 1,69,900.

Powered by the ARM based Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus processors, Microsoft says that the Surface Pro 11 is 90 per cent more powerful than its predecessor. The laptop comes with a 13-inch screen and lets users connect up to three 4K external displays.

Paired with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage, it comes with two USB-4 ports, Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7 support. The tech giant claims that the Surface Pro 11 can last up to 14 hours on a single charge. The base model of the Surface Pro 11 that comes with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage can be purchased for rs 1,16,999 while the OLED screen variant with 16GB RAM and 512`GB storage starts from Rs 1,65,999.
