HP today added two new laptops to its gaming lineup – Omen 16 and Victus 16. Powered by AMD processors and Nvidia graphics, both devices come with the company’s Omen Tempest Cooling mechanism to lower the device temperature so gamers can enjoy their favourite titles for hours without performance drops. The Omen 16 and Victus 16 also bring upgraded Omen Gaming Hub features like a performance mode and network booster.
The new Omen 16 is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 9-7940HS processor backed by a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with 8GB RAM. As the name suggests, it has a 16.1-inch screen with QHD resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz. The display has a peak brightness of 300 nits.
It comes with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of NVMe Gen 4 SSD and has a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard. You also get two speakers tuned by Bang & Olufsen alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack. HP says the Omen 16 packs an 83Wh battery with fast charging support and runs on Windows 11. It starts from Rs 1,14,999.
The Victus 16 is the cheaper of the two but packs pretty good hardware for the asking price. Powered by AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor, the laptop comes with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3050 GPU with 6GB of VRAM. Similar to the Omen 16, it comes with up to 32GB DDR5 RAM.
However, the 16.1-inch display has a full HD resolution and 144 refresh rate. The battery capacity is a bit smaller at 73Wh. Also, it happens to be the first Victus laptop with an RGB backlight keyboard and 3 vents for better cooling. It starts from Rs 86,999.
