Lenovo showcased the world's first transparent laptop—Lenovo ThinkBook Transparent Display at the Mobile World Congress 2024. As the name suggests, the device comes with a massive 17.3-inch bezel-less see-through (55 per cent transparency) display, which makes use of a micro-LED screen with 720p resolution. The laptop also includes a transparent keyboard area, featuring a floating footpad design. Besides being a transparent laptop, Lenovo has also integrated Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) technology, where users can interact with real-world objects. Do note that this is a proof of concept and won't be available for purchase anytime soon. There is a camera located on the chassis of this laptop, which uses AI for image recognition, and the digital version of the same will be displayed on the laptop. In terms of software, it is as modern as most laptops and runs on Windows 11 OS, and the company has not revealed anything related to the hardware specifications of this machine. It's not just the display that's transparent; even the keyboard is transparent, which laser projects keys when required, and it also doubles as a sketchpad with stylus support. One downside of this is the fact that you won't get any tactile feedback from the keys, and it will be like typing on a flat surface. Lenovo confirms that the display panel on the ThinkBook Transparent Display is made out of microLED technology, enabling higher colour saturation with up to 1000 nits of peak brightness, which enables the company to optimize the screen for both indoor and outdoor usage.
