Apple announces iPhone 12 series including four new iPhones - iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The India price of the iPhone 12 series starts at Rs 69,900 and goes up to much over a lakh for the Pro Max version. Here's our first look at the iPhone 12

Apple during its October 13 event launched four new iPhones dubbed the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro will be made available in India starting October 30. The iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Mini will be available later. The availability is yet of these two iPhones is yet to be announced.

The new iPhone 12 starts at Rs 79,900 and will be made available in Blue, Green, Black, White and Product(RED) colour options. The iPhone 12 Mini starts at Rs 69,900, and will be made available in Blue, Green, Black, White and Product(RED) colour options. The iPhone 12 Pro starts at Rs 1,19,900 and will be made available in Graphite, Silver, Gold and Pacific Blue colour options. And lastly, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is priced at Rs 1,29,900 in Graphite, Silver, Gold and Pacific Blue colour options.

Apple announces iPhone 12 Pro at a starting price of $999. The iPhone 12 Pro comes in three storage models including 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at $1099 and is available in three models 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. 

Apple further announces two new iPhone 12 models including iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The Pro model comes with a 6.1 inches screen while the Pro Max comes with 6.7 inches Retina display. Both the iPhones are powered by A14 Bionic chipset that also powers the cheaper iPhones. The iPhone 12 Pro comes with 12MP ultrawide 12 wide angle lens 12 telephoto lens. Both these iPhones come with deep fusion camera feature. Notably, iPhone 12 Pro Max comes with new camera system with more 'pro-level' features compared to the iPhone 12 Pro cameras. Furthermore. HDR video recording is coming to iPhones for the first time ever. iPhone 12 Pro will be able to record videos in Dolby Vision HDR too and also edit in the Photos app itself.  The Pro models come with LiDar scanner that will offer 'an instant AR experience'. It's also used to focus on objects for photography in low-light conditions. 

Apple launches iPhone 12 at a starting price of $799 while the iPhone 12 Mini starts at a lower price tag of $699. 

The iPhone 12 Mini offers everything iPhone 12 delivers just has a smaller 5.4 inches Super Retina XDR Display. It comes in five colours and packs the latest Bionic A15, iOS 14 and more. Apple’s new iPhones won’t ship with earbuds or chargers.

Apple has just announced MagSafe for iPhone which promises to improve the wireless charging experience on the iPhone 12 but this technique works only for the all new iPhone 12.

Next up is the iPhone. And for the very first time iPhones are going to come with 5G support. As far as the rumours are concerned, all the iPhone models launching today -- could be around four of them -- will come with 5G support. Apple has partnered with Verizon to bring 5G iPhones for the very first time.

You will also be able to control multiple things including lights, etc. HomePod mini comes in two colour options, and is priced at $99. 

The online launch event begins and as the tradition goes the live stream starts with showing the Apple Park. Following which Tim Cook takes the stage and provides the recap of the last Apple event. The first product that Cook announces today is for our homes -- the all new Home Pod Mini. 

The Apple launch event will begin at at 10 AM California time, from within the Apple Park. This translates to 10:30 PM IST. You will be able to stream the event live on Apple’s official website, from inside of the Apple TV app and on the company’s official YouTube channel.

Apple may launch as many as four new iPhone 12 models ranging in size from 5.4-inches to 6.7-inches. The phones are said to have a different design with a flat-sided body, similar to how the iPad Pro looks. All four models are expected to come with OLED displays as well as 5G, though not every new iPhone will support millimeter wave band. The phones will likely feature Apple's new high-performance A14 chipset and an upgraded camera. However, in the case of the Pro models, they will also get a LiDAR sensor that could make augmented reality (AR) experiences more immersive. Expect the iPhone 12 series to start at $699 and go up to $1099 for the top-end model.

Just a few hours before the iPhone 12 event, Apple CEO Tim Cook tweeted his event playlist on Apple Music. When you open the link, you will be directed to the list of 27 songs that are part of Cook's event playlist. All 27 tracks belong to different genres of music. It's very hard to make out what Cook is trying to tease. The tweet didn't clarify much - but our guess is that Cook has just teased the HomePod Mini or the rumoured AirPods Studio.

Apple's latest iPhones will not come with a 120Hz as the company chose to forgo the feature in favour of 5G connectivity. According to a report by Jon Prosser, the company chose to do this because having both features would drain the battery life exponentially. And marketing better connectivity via 5G would be easier than explaining to consumers the benefits of a 120Hz display. You can read more about it in detail by clicking here.

Yes, this is our first look at the HomePod Mini. The images, published by @Evan Blass, reveal a spherical-shaped HomePod Mini. Honestly, the HomePod Mini does different from the original HomePod - though it's still covered with a mesh fabric. Based on leaks and speculation, the HomePod Mini will retail for $99 (or about Rs 7,270). In comparison, the original HomePod was launched at a retail price of $349 (or approx Rs 25,600)

Apple India Store is currently down, with a page stating that the company is updating the page and it will be back soon. We expect that the store will be back to normal with the listing of all the new iPhones after the iPhone 12 launch event.

Apple is expected to launch four new iPhones today: iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. All of these devices will come with an OLED display. All of them will be powered by the company's own A14 chipset, which is based on the 5-nanometer manufacturing process speed up artificial intelligence and AR tasks.

Flipkart has started teasing the Apple iPhone 12 launch event via a dedicated microsite. The page shows the event logo and has teaser videos embedded for the same. It also consists of a 'Notify Me' button to keep interested users updated about the event. The company will be streaming the live event from the page too.

'I think we’ll hear a lot more about their audio strategy moving forward. Apple has bought Beats and Shazam but has not yet fully leveraged these acquisitions. Siri is lagging behind from an experiential point of view. I think we’ll see improvements there but I expect a more holistic announcement around their audio products later this year,' Thomas Husson, VP, Principal Analyst, Forrester research told indianexpress.com in an email.

According to a new report by Jon Prosser, Apple is not implementing a 120Hz refresh rate in the iPhone 12 Pro. This is because Apple chose to implement 5G modems inside of the phone, which are comparatively more battery hungry than their 4G counterparts.

One model that has the chance to become the most popular iPhone in the pandemic era could be a 5.4-inch variant, which may end up being called the iPhone 12 Mini.
