At the Galaxy Unpacked 2024, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6, its latest book-style foldable device. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for Galaxy, it is more of an incremental upgrade over its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 7.6-inch 120Hz sAMOLED inner screen but Samsung has bumped up the size of the external screen from 6.2-inch to 6.3-inch. With a max brightness of 2,600 nits, the new foldable phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It also comes with an improved dual rail hinge structure supported by a strengthened folding edge, with Samsung adding IP48 water and dust resistance. To give you a quick recap, the previous models offered IPX8 water resistance. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 weighs 239 grams, making it 14 grams lighter than its predecessor. Samsung also made the phone thinner at 12.1mm when folded and 5.6mm when unfolded. On the back, you still have a 50MP primary camera accompanied by a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. Also, the camera sensor in the main display remains the same at 4MP. It runs on One UI 6.1.1 based on Android 14 out of the box and has a 4,400mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The base variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at $1,899.99 (approx. Rs 1,58,680) whereas the 512GB and 1TB models can be purchased for $2019.99 (approx. Rs 1,68,700) and $2259.99 (approx. 1,88,745) respectively. It will go on sale from July 24.
