At the recently concluded Made by Google event, the tech giant unveiled the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, its latest book-style foldable smartphone and confirmed that it is coming to India. Similar to the Pixel 9 series, the newest foldable from Google is powered by the Tensor G4 chipset and has a redesigned rear camera island. Featuring a 6.3-inch 120Hz Actua OLED cover screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an 8-inch 120Hz Super Actua Flex AMOLED screen with, Google says the Pixel Pro 9 Pro Fold has a hinge made from “multi-alloy steel with an aerospace-grade high-strength aluminum alloy cover.” The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a huge squarish camera island that houses a triple camera setup which consists of a 48MP primary camera along with a 10.5MP ultrawide sensor and a 10.8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. Compared to the original Pixel Fold, Google seems to have upgraded the cover and inner display camera from 8MP and 9.5MP to 10MP for both displays. You also get Google’s AI powered camera and editing features like Add me, Macro Focus, Night Sight, Face Unblur, Real Tone, Top Shot, Made You Look and others. The latest from Google runs on Android 14 out of the box, with Google promising 7 years of OS updates. It comes with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage and packs a 4,560mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging and wireless charging. Google’s new foldable has a USB Type-C 3.2 port, supports one physical SIM and an eSIM and offers IPX8 water resistance. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be available in two colourways - Obsidian and Porcelain and starts from Rs 1,72,999. Power of Gemini on Pixel 9 Fold Pro The new foldable device comes supercharged with AI capabilities thanks to Gemini. Users need to simply press and hold the power button to write stories and blogs, learn new things, or even plan events. Gemini lets you extract full details from an invite in Gmail, and it can even suggest nearby cafes in Google Maps. Moreover, users can also run Gemini in the Split Screen mode on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold to multitask alongside. Gemini also describes what's on the screen or photos and helps you get recipes based on what's in your kitchen. Google has also announced that users will also get access to AI features with one year of the Google One AI Premium plan that includes Gemini Advanced, Gemini in Gmail and Docs, and 2 TB of Cloud Storage.
