Mi India has announced a security plan, Mi Protect, for its devices, which will cover all accidental and liquid damages. The company will also provide the second servicing free within one year of subscription of the plan. Users of Xiaomi's Redmi 2 and Redmi 2 Prime smartphone can subscribe to the Mi Protect plan for Rs 275. The 'Mi Protect' plan starts at Rs 499 for Mi 4i, Mi 4 (16GB) and Mi Pad. The plan is available only for devices bought from Mi.com. According to Mi, the subscription includes SIM misuse cover of up to Rs 3,000, doorstep pick-up and drop and Docusafe of up to 1GB storage. The company, under the Mi Protect plan will also offer two device repairs and restoration of full amount after first repair. Also, users can get their SIM blocked from anywhere in the world with a call to the company's call center.
