Micromax Canvas Play with 5.5-inch screen, Android L spotted online

After the launch of the Canvas Spark, Micromax it seems is all set to launch another Android L smartphone for users in India. The Canvas Play, has been spotted on the company’s website and while there is no official word on the release date, ebay.in has listed the smartphone for Rs 7490.

Again it’s not clear if the smartphone will be available on other platforms, and if this is an official seller.

As far as specs of the Micromax Canvas Play go they are: 5.5-inch screen with FWVGA resolution (480×854 pixels), 8 GB ROM, 1GB RAM, Mediatek’s MT6582M processor which is clocked at 1.3GHz and is quad-core processor. The smartphone runs Android 5.0, the latest version of the OS.

According to Micromax, the Canvas Play has over 3.60 GB Internal storage available for both apps and mass storage, which is quite less. You can expand the memory via microSD with 32GB as the limit.

This is a 3G, Dual-SIM (Micro+Normal SIM) smartphone with 5 megapixel FF Rear camera (2560X1920 resolution) and a 0.3MP front camera, which is quite disappointing.

The battery is a 2820mAh and Micromax is promising 10 hours of talktime. Sensors on the list are: Sensors Motion, proximity, light sensors.
