Ola has tied up with OnePlus to offers users in 6 Indian cities a chance to experience the new OnePlus 2 smartphone via the cab-hailing app. This option will be available in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata.

Ola customers can request a free OnePlus 2 experience at their doorstep, just like they would request a cab, by clicking on the ‘OnePlus 2’ icon that will be live on Ola’s app during these days. Users can register on the Ola app to have a chance to get OnePlus invites and freebies as well.

In Bangalore and Chennai, this initiative will be available on August 17 and 18, in Hyderabad and Mumbai on August 21 and 22 and in Kolkata and Delhi on August 25 and 26.

OnePlus 2 has a 5.5-inch Full HD display, USB Type-C connector, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, fingerprint scanner, OIS enabled 13MP camera with laser auto-focus and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The 64GB OnePlus 2 will be available for purchase with an invite in India, starting August 11 for Rs 24,999 on Amazon India.

In an interview to IndianExpress.com, Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus said that the OnePlus 2 will be the only flagship from the company for the year 2015 and that they will not be reducing the price of the original OnePlus One phone any further.

On the Indian market, Pei said, “Regarding India, we’re targeting a more savvy and worldly segment of consumers, a segment that’s growing rapidly. What we’ve seen here is that habits do not differ that much from their counterparts in the United States and Europe. They just want the best product. Period.”
