When the OnePlus 6T was released earlier this month, many thought the available colour options — Midnight Black and Mirror Black — were boring. Earlier this week, OnePlus surprised consumers by officially introducing the OnePlus 6T in Thunder Purple for a number of markets, including India. We got an early look at the OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple limited edition variant before it goes on sale this Friday, November 16.
The new colour is the only difference between a standard OnePlus 6T and the limited edition model. The purple finish on the back attracts the eye and there’s hardly any fingerprints. The purple variant has a gradient finish that changes from purple to black down the back of the phone and it looks very impressive. Apart from that, one should expect the same build quality, style, and design as the regular OnePlus 6T.

There’s no change in internals, specifications or features. That means a 6.4-inch display (2,340 x 1,080 resolution), teardrop notch, dual 16MP-and 20MP cameras, Snapdragon 845 processor, in-screen fingerprint scanner, 3,700mAh battery, and Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. There’s also a 16MP front-facing camera, alongside a respectable 3700mAh battery. Of course, you also get the same box design and wall charger as you do with a standard OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus 6T said the limited edition Thunder Purple colour variant will be available November 15 in Europe and North America. In India, OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple colour variant will go on sale on November 16, which is this Friday. You can pick up the Thunder Purple OnePlus 6T with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage for Rs 41,999.
Overall, it’s a really attractive finish. If you’re unimpressed by the usual back finish, then this purple coloured variant could be made one for you.
