Oppo has launched its new F1 Plus smartphone at Rs 26,990 with a fingerprint scanner, 4 GB RAM and 64GB space. The smartphone is a successor of Oppo F1 Selfie Expert and houses a 13 megapixel rear camera. The front camera in the smartphone is 16 megapixel , making it suitable for selfie lovers. In our review of Oppo F1, we noted that it is one of the best camera phones at this range, but at a premium. Here’s our first impression of the phone. Design and Display If you liked the design of iPhone 6, 6s; I am sure you’ll like the Oppo F1 Plus too. The smartphone resembles iPhone 6s Plus quite a lot. The device that we got for review looks like a pinkish gold, though not really rose gold in the true sense. It has a plastic back with a thin silver metal frame running along the smartphone. The rear camera in Oppo F1 Plus is placed at the top left corner and the flash just below it. The smartphone has curved edges. Oppo F1 Plus is super-thin at just 6.6 mm, and surprisingly light too. It has an almost bezel-less design on the sides, which makes the screen look even bigger. I personally like smartphones with bigger screen size and the ones that look lean; and Oppo F1 Plus has got both of these things right. The 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display is sharp and easy on eyes. The display works well in sunlight too. Additionally, this one comes with an eye protection display option, which can be turned on for low, medium or high. The fingerprint scanner in Oppo F1 Plus is pretty fast and accurate. I could almost immediately unlock the phone every time I used the fingerprint scanner. Processor, Battery and Memory The processor in Oppo F1 Plus is 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) coupled with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The processor was first seen in LeEco LeMax smartphone. This one comes with a hybrid SIM-slot with Nano-SIM support. I haven’t been able to use the smartphone for multi-tasking much other than watching some videos. So far no lag or crashes, but we will have more on that in our review. Oppo F1 Plus is backed by 2,850 mAh battery. We will have to wait and see how it battery performs, once it is subjected to daily use. [related-post] Camera Oppo F1 Plus is a camera-centric smartphone and features a 16 megapixel front camera with f aperture. The results that I got were pretty impressive. It can definitely handle the reds well. This is probably one of the best Android cameras right now for selfie. It brings out details in a photo quite nicely. The rear camera works equally well in places where there is ample light. We will however reserve our judgement on how it performs in low-light for later. The rear camera in Oppo F1 Plus is 13 megapixel with LED flash and f aperture. OS Oppo F1 Plus runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop-based ColorOS 3.0. This one does not have an app drawer, but you can keep swiping right to access apps. Wrap up Oppo F1 Plus is undoubtedly a pretty good camera, in fact the results are highly-impressive. Plus, it comes with a big 5.5-inch screen size and 4 GB RAM. While Oppo F1 Plus has impressed me on more than one levels, it comes with a price.
