Zopo Speed 8 has been launched in India at Rs 29,999. Zopo is touting Speed 8 as the “world’s first Deca-Core Smartphone”. Even before its official launch, the smartphone was seen listed on Amazon India with AdCom as the seller. The Speed 8 was globally launched in Barcelona, Spain in February 2016. Zopo Speed 8 features a 5.5-inch FHD display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The smartphone has a 5 point capacitive screen. It is powered by a 64-bit Deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 (MT6797) processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM (further expandable up to 32GB). Zopo Speed 8 is a dual-SIM smartphone that supports 4G SIM cards. Zopo Speed 8 sports a 21MP auto-focus primary camera with f aperture. It supports 2K videos and 2K video recording. The front camera is 8MP, which comes with dual LED flash and f aperture. Zopo Speed 8 comes with fingerprint scanner and supports NFC. Charles Bird, Brand Manager, Zopo Mobile said, "The speed of the fingerprint scanner in this device is as good as any other phone out there." Zopo Speed 8 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is backed by a 3600 mAH battery with Zopo promising 10 hours of talk-time. It relies on Type-C USB port for charging. Zopo Speed 8 supports Bluetooth, WiFi Hotspot. Sensors in this smartphone are: Light sensor, Distance sensor, Accelerometer, Geomagnetic sensor, Gyroscope. The dimensions of Zopo Spped 8 are 152.5x76.35x9.8mm. It weighs 164 gm. On asked about the high price of the phone, Sanjeev Bhatia, Founder & Chairman of Adcom said, "People in India do not buy phones worth Rs 30,000. It's a niche product and we only expect to sell a few thousand units every month." "We have already penetrated into 50 per cent of the Indian market, and expect to be Pan-India by the next quarter," he added. "With a Deca-Core processor, Speed 8 does not have a competition in the market, it is the first phone of its kind. The pricing of the phone in India is similar to its price in Spain, where Zopo is a very popular brand, " said Saahib Bhatia, Associate Manager Operations of Adcom, representing Zopo. Zopo is going to launch the offline sales of its mobile phones in New Delhi, and expect 500 dealers to be part of the event.
