Twitter recently replaced its like button with ‘heart’ icon but Google Chrome has found a way to get the good old ‘start’ back. Users can do so by enabling a third-party Chrome extension, ‘Fav Forever’.
This however will only be possible if one logs in to Twitter using the Chrome browser. Fav Forever is available on Chrome Web Store. The star denoted ‘favourites’ on Twitter. It has now been replaced by a pink heart, which according to the company is more expressive.
To get the ‘star’ icon back, all a user will have to do is download the extension and enable it. The Verge however reported that that the extension will make the star come back in some ways but not all.
The microblogging site on Tuesday had announced the replacement saying that the star can be confusing to new users, wheres heart is “a universal symbol that resonates across languages, cultures, and time zones.”
The latest modification has been made to engage more users to the platform, which has seen a slower growth as compared to other social networking giants like Facebook and Instagram.
Heart icon has been launched for iOS and Android, twitter.com, TwitterDeck and Twitter for Windows 10.
