With just a few days left for Holi, Snapchat has unveiled a new lens called “AR Pichkari”. The company says Indian Snapchatters can celebrate Holi by splashing over one lakh colours and that it is a first-of-its-kind Lens in the app.
The new Lens, developed by Ronin Labs, requires users to use their rear camera and starts with a countdown that initiates the flow of water, which is controlled using your phone’s movements.
Snapchat says users can follow their friends with the camera to put virtual colours on them. When the timer runs out, a message with the text “Holi Hai!!” will appear on the screen.
To use the new ‘AR Pichkari’ Lens, open Snapchat on your device and open the camera by tapping on the Camera that appears in the middle of the bottom bar. Now, point your camera to the code in the image above and Snapchat will show a message saying ‘Snapcode detected’.
Tap on it and you should be able to use the Lens by pointing it towards your friends. Snapchat will show a virtual water gun filled with colours that you can spray on their clothes and face. If you don’t want to scan the code, try searching for ‘AI Pichkari’ in the app.
Last month, Snapchat unveiled enhanced parental controls in an update that gives parents more visibility and control over their children’s activity in the app.
