Google is all set to unveil the Pixel 9 series at the upcoming Made by Google event on August 13. Unlike the previous lineup, which usually comprised two devices, Google's upcoming smartphone line up may see three phones - Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is said to replace the Pixel Pro model whereas the Pixel 9 Pro is rumoured to be a compact device about the size of the Pixel 9. Google also confirmed that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the successor to the company’s first book-style foldable device will be coming to India. Here are 5 things we expect to see at the Made by Google event scheduled to take place next week. Pixel 9 series The Pixel 9 series is confirmed to launch on August 13, and if we go by past leaks and rumours, almost everything is known about the upcoming smartphones. The new series will be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset and is said to sport a redesigned pill shaped camera island that won’t be run across the entire width of the phone. Google is also expected to announce its latest foldable phone - the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and share more information about its availability in India. The company's second book style foldable is said to feature a squarish double layered pill shaped camera island that is said to bring some much needed improvements to the software, camera and hardware. However, it is still unclear if the Google's foldable will be launched alongside the Pixel 9 series or if Google will launched it a few weeks later. Android 15 public release Alongside the Pixel 9 lineup, Google might also announce Android 15, the upcoming version of the world’s most popular mobile operating system. The latest release is said to bring a bunch of new features, some of which will be AI-powered and introduce some new privacy and security enhancing functionalities. At this year’s Google I/O event, the company previewed features like “Theft Detection Lock” that lets you quickly lock your phone in case someone snatched it from you and Private Space, which as the name suggests, lets you keep apps with sensitive information in a secure space. Android 15 will also help you free up some storage space by automatically archiving apps that you don’t use much and is getting a new AI powered scam scam detection tool that will warn users if the other person is trying to steal your money or bank credentials. New AI features Earlier this year, Google had confirmed that some old features like Circle to Search will be coming to more devices, but we also expect to see new features like “Add Me”, which lets you add different people into group photos and Pixel Screenshots, another AI-powered feature that works similar to Microsoft’s Windows Recall feature, which makes everything you do on your phone searchable. Google might also announce some new features that may not have made their way in the leaked promo material alongwith some improvements to Gemini, its ChatGPT-like AI powered chatbot. Pixel Buds Pro 2 It's been over two years since Google unveiled the original Pixels Buds Pro. Initially, reviewers weren’t impressed with these wireless earbuds, but over time, Google has rolled out several updates that added some new features and made them into one of the most value for money earbuds. According to a recent report by Android Headlines, Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel Buds Pro 2. These earbuds are rumoured to launch in four colourways - Charcoal, Porcelain, Aloe and Hot Pink. Compared to the original Pixel Buds Pro, the new model is said to bring some design changes, with a more visible grill on both earbuds, which the report suggests will be used for ANC and transparency modes. While there is no news if the new Pixel Buds will bring improvements to the audio quality, the bulkier case suggests these wireless earbuds will pack a bigger battery compared to its predecessor. Pixel Watch 3 The original Pixel Watch and last year’s Pixel Watch 2 are pretty good WearOS-powered wearables, but they didn’t make it to India. But Google might change its plans and launch the Pixel Watch 3 in here. Once again, Google is yet to officially unveil its upcoming smartwatch, but previous leaks and rumours suggest that the Pixel Watch 3 will look similar to its predecessors but come with some redesigned elements. The Pixel Watch 3 is also said to come in two wrist sizes - 41mm and 45mm to cater to a larger audience and are said to boast a 2,000 nits bright OLED screen along with thinner bezels and a bigger battery that might finally help these smartwatches hit the 24 hour mark.
