Amazon India's Fire TV streaming trend 2023 report reveals that most Indians with access to Fire TV spend around four hours per day streaming their favourite movies, shows, cricket matches, playing games, and listening to music. The report also highlights that, states like Karnataka, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Maharastra spent more hours watching cricket on Fire TV. Compared to all the other states, people in Delhi have the highest watch hours on Fire TV, clocking at 5.4 hours a day. Ad-supported and free-to-use streaming platforms like miniTV, MX Player, and others also witnessed a massive 23 per cent year-on-year growth on the platform. Indians also enjoyed watching other sports like F1 races, which witnessed a 50 per cent increase in viewership on Fire TV. Besides, there was also a surge in the consumption of Kids' related apps on the platform, which includes services like YouTube Kids, ChuChu TV, and Happy Kids. And, music streaming was also one of the most popular activities on Fire TV, where, one in every three users grooved to their favourite music via platforms like Amazon Music and Spotify. Coming to movies, titles like 'Jailer,' 'Pathan,' 'Drishyam 2,' and 'Pippa' were some of the most streamed movies on the platform, and users have also enjoyed Amazon originals like 'Farzi,' 'Dahaad,' 'Made In Heaven,' and more shows on the platform with comedy, thriller, and drama being the most popular genres of content on Fire TV. The report also highlights that 80 per cent of the Fire TV users made use of Alexa to search and navigate through the content, and the platform currently has over 12,000 apps and some also use Fire TV to control Alexa-enabled smart home appliances and to set reminders. Amazon also states that Fire TV devices have been purchased in over 99 per cent of pin codes in India with a positive product rating of over 4 stars. Amazon currently sells multiple models of the Fire TV, which includes the basic version - Fire TV Stick Lite which retails for Rs 3,499 and the high-end model - Fire TV Stick 4K Max is priced at Rs 6,499.
