Amazon has silently increased the prices of monthly and quarterly Prime subscriptions in India. The monthly subscription cost has gone up from Rs 179 to Rs 299, while the three-month subscription has also received a price hike and now costs Rs 599. However, there have been no changes in the annual subscription, which still costs Rs 1,499. For first-time users, the monthly Prime subscription is still available for free. However, recurring users will have to bear the new prices. By increasing the monthly and quarterly subscription prices, Amazon India seems to be pushing more users to buy the annual subscription, which now looks like a bargain. The company recently launched an affordable Prime Light membership for Rs 999 per year. This plan offers Prime Video streaming in SD quality on up to two devices, as well as free two-day delivery. However, it does not offer Prime Music streaming or Prime gaming benefits like the regular Prime subscription.
