Apple has announced that it has sold more than 13 million units of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus model in the opening weekend, a new record of sorts. Additionally there’s good news for Apple India fans as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available by October 16 in the country.
On October 9, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in more than 40 additional countries which include, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain and Taiwan.
“Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history. Customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can’t wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries on October 9,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook in a press statement.
Apple announced iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus at its September 9 event. The new iPhones bring 3D Touch which allow fro new gestures like Peek and Pop. The new iPhone also come with twice as much RAM as its predecessor.

Apple also updated the camera of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus to 12-megapixel iSight camera which is now capable of shooting 4K videos. The front FaceTime camera is now 5-megapixels and Apple is using the display to light up at night time to click better selfies.
The sales figures for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus completed by Saturday, September 26 will be included in Apple’s fourth quarter results for this fiscal year and sales completed on Sunday, September 27 will be included in Apple’s 2016 first fiscal quarter results.
