The year’s first and possibly biggest tech show will officially kick off on the morning of Tuesday, January 7, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the US.
Events:
- A few tech giants such as AMD and Samsung will be holding pressers a day before the official start date.
- NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is expected to take the CES 2025 stage on Monday, January 6, at 6:30pm PT to outline how AI and accelerated computing are reshaping the future of global industries.
- The following day will see other notable keynotes from X CEO Linda Yaccarino at 1:30 pm PT and Delta CEO Ed Bastian at 5 pm PT.
Key trends:
- AI chip-makers Nvidia and AMD are expected to go head-to-head at this year’s CES. While Nvidia is likely to release its much anticipated GeForce RTX 50 GPU, AMD could show off its own next-gen GPU, which is likely to be either the RX 8000 or RX 9000 series.
- While most of the noise will be about AI, CES is also one of the year’s top automotive shows. Car makers like Toyota and Hyundai are participating. Thye are expected to showcase the latest innovations in humanoids and other robotics.
- CES also serves as a launching pad for new models of computer monitors by big-wigs such as Samsung, ASUS, and MSI.
- A bunch of smart home appliances from brands like LG are also expected to be introduced at CES 2025, along with a new iteration of smart assistants from Google, Amazon, and Apple.
- In the extended reality space that continues to be dominated by Meta’s affordable Quest headsets, big names like HTC and Magic as well as chipmaker Qualcomm are expected to make a splash.
