Apple Tuesday announced its new iPhone 15 series as well as the new Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 at an event where its environmental sustainability efforts took centre-stage like never before.
The iPhone 15 Pro series will stand out for its Grade 5 titanium chassis, the first in a smartphone, and the new 3nanometer A17Pro silicon which the company claims can take on even desktop computers. Apple claims the new silicon makes the phone more powerful than most desktop computers, but is still more energy efficient. Apple claimed this will change mobile gaming as the processor in concert with the new display takes the immersive experience to a whole new level.

The event spared quite some time underlining Apple’s efforts to become carbon neutral across all its business by 2030. In fact, it used a light-veined film featuring CEO Tim Cook and VP Lisa Jackson to drive the serious point and highlight its efforts towards cutting down its carbon footprint. Apple Watch Series 9 will be manufactured entirely using renewable energy and it is moving mostly to ocean shipping for its products to reduce the carbon footprint. All this will make Apple Watch Series 9 Curpertino’s first carbon-neutral product. Apple also announced that it will stop using leather in any new Apple product, including watch straps.
