Facebook launches new ‘Reactions’ but there is no dislike button in the list

Facebook is officially testing new reactions on the site, other than the ‘Like’ button although it has confirmed there will be no dislike button from the company.

Back in September, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had revealed company’s plans to look beyond like button with something that expresses empathy. However he had expressly stated in the interaction thata dislike button would go against the idea of how the Facebook community functioned.

A post at Techcrunch reveals that the company plans to roll out six set emojis expressing empathy.

According to Techcrunch, the new emojis will be called Reactions and they will sit alongside the much-liked thumbs-up (or like) button. The new set of empathetic emojis can be used to express love, laughter, happiness, shock, sadness and anger.

Facebook plans to roll-out the feature initially in Spain and Ireland and will decide whether to tweak it further and also plan strategy to roll out further. Facebook’s Reactions will be rolled out across mobile and desktop versions.

After huge demand for ‘dislike’ button which CEO Mark Zuckerberg himself acknowledged, Reactions seems to be an effort to not get backfired by people who are against dislike button.
