Google New Logo 2025: Google has updated its iconic ‘G’ logo for the first time in nearly ten years. The ‘G’ in the well-known Product Sans format is still present in the new design, but the colour scheme has been tweaked.

short article insert The new logo features a gradient design that blends the colours more naturally, providing depth and polish, whereas the previous one only used four solid colours: red, yellow, green, and blue. The colour distribution and gradient blending make the new logo appear more balanced.

On Sunday, May 11, the Google iOS app was updated with the new logo. Meanwhile, a similar update to the Google 16.8 beta app added the new colours to the iconic ‘G’ logo on Android.

The company has not yet disclosed if the six-letter “Google” logo would also receive the upgrade. Additionally, it has not stated if its other apps, like Google Maps and Google Chrome, will use the new logo.

The gradient design might, however, be extended to other services given Google’s emphasis on AI across all of its products. The new gradient design reflects the company’s evolving brand identity as it includes more AI functions, especially with the introduction of Google Gemini, its generative AI assistant. A blue-to-purple gradient is already present in Gemini’s logo, which further suggests Google’s move toward dynamic, gradient-based design.

The older ‘G’ icon is still in use on other platforms, including web and Android devices that are not Pixels. But the new one is currently visible on iOS and Pixel smartphones. In the upcoming weeks, it is expected that the new design will be more widely available on various Google-run platforms and devices.
