Google Pixel 10 India launch highlights: Pixel 10 series starts from Rs 79,990

The Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL are available with 256GB of storage and can be pre-ordered starting today:

- Pixel 10: ₹79,999

- Pixel 10 Pro: ₹1,09,999

- Pixel 10 Pro XL: ₹1,24,999

Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL buyers will also receive one year of Google AI Pro free.

Google announced at its Made by Google event that NBA star Stephen Curry is joining the company as a Performance Advisor in a long-term partnership covering Google Health, Pixel, and Cloud. Curry will reportedly use his experience as a professional athlete to provide insights on product development, algorithm training, and future hardware and feature design.

The Pixel Watch 4 includes improved sleep monitoring that uses advanced machine learning to track sleep stages with 18% greater accuracy. It also has a skin temperature sensor to detect deviations from personal norms and dual-frequency GPS for more precise route tracking in challenging environments.

The watch supports real-time cycling metrics through the Fitbit app, offers over 50 exercise modes including new options like pickleball and basketball, and uses AI to automatically detect and log workouts, ensuring activity is tracked even if users forget to start a session.

Google’s Camera Coach uses Gemini models to offer step-by-step guidance on lighting, composition, and other photography techniques, helping users improve their camera skills while exploring new shot ideas.

Pixel Buds 2a are smaller and lighter than Pixel Buds A-series. They feature a twist-to-adjust stabilizer and four eartips. And they have an IP54 sweat and water resistance rating.

Over 96 per cent of American phone buyers pick something other than a Pixel, according to a report by Washington Post. This trend is expected to hold even after the launch of the Pixel 10 today. Around 75 per cent of American phone buyers picked either an Apple or a Samsung device, the report stated, citing data from market research firm IDC.

But why are there not many takers for Pixel phones in the US? Well, it might have something to do with less consumer awareness and limited carrier support from US service providers like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

Two years ago, Google launched its first-ever foldable phone. In 2024, the tech giant unveiled a top-to-bottom upgrade of the phone called the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. So will today's launch event see the Pixel 10 Flip?

Its unlikely. While rival Samsung has its Galaxy Z Fold line and its Galaxy Z Flip series, it is much more likely that Google will join Motorola in sticking to just one kind of foldable.

A closer look at Google's official Pixel 10 teaser reveals the back of the yet-to-be-unveiled phone. Its more or less similar to the Pixel 9, except the Pixel 10 may have slightly more metal framing around the camera setup. There are also rumours buzzing about a third telephoto lens for distance photography in addition to the main camera and ultrawide shooter. This type of camera bump already comes with the Pro variations of Google Pixel.

In less than an hour or so, we will know whether these rumours of a third camera on the base model of Pixel 10 hold any weight.
