Since Android’s existence, Google Play Store has remained the preferred marketplace for billions of users worldwide to discover and install new apps and games. While the app store is great for downloading new games, many of us often forget to play the games we install on our phones and tablets.
To help alleviate the issue, Google Play Store is rolling out a new section that helps users track all the games they have installed on their phones. Dubbed ‘Continue playing’, the new section appears under the ‘Games’ tab and notifies users when they last played a game.
If you installed a game but haven’t played it yet, the section shows the date when you installed it. As can be seen in the image above, the new section also has a ‘Play’ button which lets users launch the game with a single tap. This is really useful for people who often install a new game but forget to play them.
The new ‘Continue playing’ section is currently live in Google Play Store v43.4.23-31 and during our testing, was available on some devices, but there is no word when it will be available to everyone.
Last month, a report hinted that the Play Store will soon be getting a ‘Download Manager’ that helps users keep track of their recently installed apps and games as well as shows the progress of ongoing installations. Earlier this year, Google rolled out a new Play Store feature that enabled simultaneous downloads and updates.
