Apple has officially unveiled iOS 17, the next big operating system for iPhones at its annual developers’ conference WWDC 2023. With this iteration, Apple has added new features and capabilities to make the most out of the new iPhones.
iPhones running on iOS 17 can send video voice mails when they receive a FaceTime call. Similarly, the update also adds a new capability to AirDrop called NameDrop, which allows users to share contact details by bringing two iPhones closer.
iOS 17 also allows users to summon Siri by just saying “Siri”. Similarly, the latest update also allows iPhone users to create pet albums in the photos app. On top of that, iOS 17 also packs an improved auto-correct algorithm. Similarly, contact poster is another new feature of iOS 17, which allows users to create customisable contact posters with colourful textual elements and profile pictures.
Other key highlights of iOS 17 are the new journal app and the Standby mode, where, the docked iPhone doubles as a bedside screen and showcases images, a calendar, clock, live activities, and more. Messages also get plenty of new features, including support for live stickers and Apple Maps can now work in offline mode.
iOS 17 developers beta will be available for developers and enthusiasts starting today and the public beta will go live this fall.
