LG unveils world’s first bendable 5K2K gaming monitor

LG has introduced the UltraGear GX9 series, featuring the world’s first bendable 5K2K OLED monitor, ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show 2025.

LG has added another excellent model to its exhaustive list of gaming accessories — the UltraGear GX9 45GX990A, the world’s first bendable 5K2K OLED monitor. On Monday, the company confirmed that the gaming monitor has won three prestigious awards, including for ‘Best of Innovation’ at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025. This flexible model is the result of advanced WOLED technology, featuring capabilities like anti-glare and low reflection (AGLR).

LG will showcase these monitors at the upcoming CES 2025. As of now, there is no information on pricing, and LG is expected to share more details during the event on January 27, 2025.

“From the world’s first 5K2K OLED gaming monitors with second-generation Dual-Mode to smart gaming monitors with built-in webOS, the GX9 lineup pushes the boundaries to deliver maximum value and enjoyment for our customers,” said Y S Lee, vice president and head of IT Business Unit, LG Media Entertainment Solution Company.

The LG UltraGear GX9 45GX990A is a 45-inch gaming monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a native resolution of 5K2K (5,120 x 2,160). This monitor can transform from a flat display to a 900R curvature, offering gaming-specific features like an ultra-fast 0.03ms (GtG) response time and support for variable refresh rates, along with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certifications.

The LG UltraGear GX9 45GX950A is an 800R curved monitor, also boasting a 5K2K resolution with narrow bezels on all four sides. Both monitors have a high pixel density of 125 pixels per inch (PPI). In terms of connectivity, these monitors offer DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and a USB-C port with 90W power delivery which can fast-charge laptops and Macs. These monitors also feature webOS and can be used as smart TVs.
