Updated UI of the Threads app on an iPhone (Image credit: Threads) Meta updated its Threads app on Tuesday and introduced plenty of new features, including the new following tab with a chronological timeline. Users can now get a dedicated feed of posts from the following accounts in one place in chronological order, and the updated user interface (UI) of the Threads app looks a lot similar to Twitter (X).
The update also allows users to customise the activity feed with filters like follows, quotes, reposts and introduces a follow button to enable users to quickly follow a user directly from the activity feed. With this update, Threads is offering more control to users on how they can consume content on the newest microblogging platform.

Similarly, Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, has also confirmed that Meta is working on a desktop website for Threads, which is expected to go live in the coming days.
This is the second update that Threads has released since its launch. In a Threads post, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, did confirm that the company is currently working on stabilising the platform and retaining users.
In the first major update, available exclusively for iOS devices, Threads introduced plenty of new features such as live translation support, tappable reposter labels, subscribe to unfollowed users, and more.
