Microsoft at its Ignite 2023 summit announces several new features to Windows 10 users, which is now supported until October 14, 2025. Similarly, the company also supercharges the operating system, which will soon gain generative AI-powered Copilot. Although Windows 11 was launched back in 2021, Windows 10 still has the higher market share with over 70 per cent market share, according to Statista, which results in over 1 billion Windows 10 PCs. Copilot will soon be available for Windows 10 users via the preview channel for the insiders, who are currently on Windows 10, version 22H2. Once it goes live, users can access this feature at the right corner of the screen, and Microsoft has also emphasised that the Copilot window will not overlap the content on the screen or block the opened app windows. Besides Copilot, Windows 10 is also getting additional new features like a bigger news and interests window, and some of the new features will also affect the app defaults and introduce Windows update opt-in notifications. This will be pushed out in a phased manner, and users who are on the Windows 10 Pro edition will not be eligible to access Copilot in the initial phase. Copilot, previously known as Bing Chat introduces generative AI capabilities to the PCs running on Windows 10 OS, which is already available for Windows 11 users for a while.
