Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 Live Updates: The 2024 edition of the Mobile World Congress is here. The much-awaited event is taking place between February 26 to 29 in Barcelona, Spain. At the event, the biggest smartphone brands will showcase their latest innovations, including smartphones, accessories, AI technologies, and more.

At MWC 2024, Xiaomi announced its latest lineup of flagship smartphones — Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra with Leica tuned camera, HMD announced a modular smartphone — HMD Fusion and the company also announced a special Barbie Flip Phone. Similarly, OnePlus launched its Watch 2 and Lenovo showcased a proof-of-concept transparent laptop. Lastly, Honor also announced a bunch of flagship smartphones, including the Magic 6 Pro with eye-tracking capability.

Honor smart ring in development

Honor CEO George Zhao in an interaction with CNBC has officially confirmed that the company is currently developing a smart ring at the Mobile World Congress 2024. Samsung also showcased its smart ring at the MWC. However, as of now, there is no information on the features of the Honor Ring. However, in terms of features and capabilities, the upcoming Honor Ring is said to be similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Ring.

HTC launches VIVE XR Elite for enterprises

HTC VIVE has announced its latest XR headset named VIVE XR Elite for business enterprises. This comes with features like location-based software suite support and also supports VIVE Business+ for easy fleet management. It also comes with physical accessories for specific use cases which include but are not limited to face gasket, over-the-top headstrap, and more. The headset offers 1920 x 1920p resolution per eye with a 90Hz refresh rate. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 platform, it offers 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. While the regular edition is priced at $1,099, the enterprise edition costs $1,299.

Tecno Pova 6 Pro 5G budget gaming smartphone

Tecno at the ongoing Mobile World Congress has officially launched a budget gaming smartphone named Pova 6 Pro, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor, and this device looks a lot like the Infinix GT10 Pro, which was launched back in 2023. The Tecno Pova 6 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the device is fueled by a 6,000 mAh battery. The smartphone comes in two colour options, and it runs on a custom HiOS 14 based on Android 14.

OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition

OnePlus has officially announced that the Genshin Impact Edition of the OnePlu 12R will launch on February 28 in India. This is a customised version of the OnePlus 12R, featuring the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The device also includes engraving achieved using the Electro Etching process, which reflects the word "Keqing" a playable character in the game. Compared to the regular edition, the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition is expected to cost a bit more, and it is likely to come in special packaging.

OnePlus Watch 2 with dual OS launches

OnePlus at the Mobile World Congress 2024 announced its latest flagship smartwatch -- OnePlus Watch 2. Powered by two chips and two operating systems, the Watch 2 claims to offer up to 100 hours of battery life, powered by the Snapdragon W5 and the BES2700. Similarly, the watch has a circular 1.43-inch display with support for touch input and the device runs on Google's WearOS and RTOS with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. After the initial teaser at Galaxy Unpacked 2024, Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy Ring at Mobile World Congress 2024. The company has displayed various Galaxy Ring prototypes at the venue, which will be available in multiple sizes and multiple colour options, ranging from S to XL. The Galaxy Ring is said to be capable of offering features like heart rate and sleep monitoring, and the larger rings might deliver slightly improved battery life due to bigger batteries. The Galaxy Ring will go on sale by the end of 2024, and it is said to play well with the Galaxy Watch. As of now, there is no information on how much the Ring will cost.

Samsung Galaxy Ring could be showcased at the event

Samsung is gearing up to launch its new wearable device, the Galaxy Ring, which promises to offer some surprising abilities.
