The OnePlus 12 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The Chinese variant of the device comes with up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. But there is a chance that RAM could be limited to just 16 GB for the global variant, while the entry-level variant might get an upgrade from 8 GB to 12 GB.
The camera setup on the OnePlus 12R is a little different from the one on the OnePlus 12. The OnePlus 12R will come with a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera nad a 2MP macro unit. Unfortunately, the device will continue to offer the dated 16MP selfie camera with support for 1080p video recording.
The OnePlus 12R will use the previous generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and will come with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Its performance is expected to be similar to the OnePlus 11. The phone will have a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5k resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 1600 nits of peak brightness.
The OnePlus 12R will follow the design of the flagship OnePlus 12. This year’s R device will feature a metal mid-frame and a curved glass sandwich device. It is also expected to offer an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance. It should also get a similar camera island, but without the Hasselblad branding.
The OnePlus 12 will come with a triple camera setup featuring Sony’s 8MP LYT-808 wide-angle lens, 48MP Sony IMX481 ultra-wide angle lens, and a 64MP OV64B telephoto lens with support for 3X telephoto lens. The selfie camera will also get a much-awaited upgrade in the form of a 32-megapixel sensor that will support 4k video recording.
The OnePlus 12 will probably retain the industrial design that came with the OnePlus 11, albeit with some significant changes that will will include the shifting of the alert slider from the right side to the left side. The phone is also expected to be slightly on the thicker side due to a bigger battery.
Apart from that, the OnePlus 12 will come with the same premium glass sandwich design with a metal frame in the middle. New colour variants expected include green, silver and black.
The company earlier announced that the OnePlus 12 will feature Pixelworks’ X7 independent visual processor in a bid to offer much better visual quality while gaming. The device will come with a “HyperRendering” feature that will allow it to deliver 2k resolution visuals at 120fps with ultra-low latency.
