OnePlus has confirmed the launch of its next flagship, the OnePlus 12, on December 5 in China. Just a day before that, on December 4, the company will host its 10th-anniversary event. Just a week ahead of the launch date, OnePlus has revealed the official renders of the OnePlus 12, confirming some new features and capabilities.
According to the official renders, the OnePlus 12 is expected to be available in three colour variants: white, black, and a marble green-like option. The renders also highlight a circular camera island housing three camera sensors and a pair of sensors bearing the Hasselblad logo. Additionally, the OnePlus 12 will be the second smartphone from the company to feature a periscope zoom lens.
The detailed renders confirm that the OnePlus 12 will include an alert slider, IR blaster, metal frame, and a stereo speaker setup. The front of the OnePlus 12 features a curved display with a punch hole, manufactured by BoE, boasting features such as up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, improved colour accuracy, and touch latency, as disclosed by the company.
Reports suggest that the camera module on the OnePlus 12 will be similar to the one on the OnePlus Open, at least concerning hardware. However, due to the new and enhanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, the OnePlus 12 is expected to deliver better camera performance.
As of now, there is no information available regarding features such as IP rating and wireless charging support for the OnePlus 12. Additionally, there is no update on parameters like eSIM support, camera sensor resolution, and a few other details. These are expected to be announced in the coming days.
While the China launch of the OnePlus 12 is scheduled for December 5, the global launch of the OnePlus 12 is likely to take place within the first two months of 2024.
