On Wednesday, at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024, held in Paris, France, Samsung unveiled its very first smart ring, which was first teased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) at its second Galaxy Unpacked event of 2024. Samsung calls it "the pinnacle of unobtrusive health technology," which consists of various sensors to measure and analyze health metrics like sleep, activity, and heart rate. The Galaxy Ring will be available in select markets starting July 24 for $399 and does not require any additional subscription. It weighs between 2.3 grams to 3.0 grams (varies from model to model) and is compatible with other Galaxy devices. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, said, "The intelligence, guidance, and insights that are offered with Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra will help users turn data into meaningful insights and create a whole new era of expanded intelligent health experiences." The Samsung Galaxy Ring features a distinct concave design and also has 10ATM water resistance. On a single charge, the Ring can offer up to seven days of battery life, and it is available in Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold, along with a sizing kit with nine different size options. The Galaxy Ring also gets Galaxy AI capabilities, and the data from the Ring are integrated into Samsung Health, which can track sleep, heart rate, and respiratory rate. The Galaxy Ring also offers features like Energy Score and Wellness tips, along with heart rate alerts.
