Google is introducing a handy new dropdown menu for sharing documents in some of its most popular apps. The new menu aims to streamline the sharing process in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drawings.

The change means saying goodbye to the full-screen sharing popup. Instead, users will be able to access sharing options through a simple dropdown menu. This should allow for quicker and easier sharing without interrupting workflow.

The new sharing menu can be accessed by clicking the arrow next to the Share button. Options include checking pending access requests, copying shareable links, and viewing who has permission to access the document. The classic full-screen sharing popup is still available by clicking the main Share button.

The updated sharing feature is rolling out to all Google Workspace users over the next few weeks, regardless of whether they are on Rapid Release or Scheduled Release. Personal Google account holders will also gain access soon.

In addition to the Docs sharing update, Google Drive is also getting upgraded sharing capabilities. Users can now create and share links that take viewers directly to a specific timestamp in a video. To use this, simply pause the video at the desired time, open the Share dropdown menu, and select “Copy link to this time.”

The new Google Drive video sharing option is already available to all free and enterprise users. Meanwhile, Google Calendar is integrating with Google Drive to allow sharing files and documents with users invited to calendar meetings.
