Updated Google Fit app lets you count calories

The company on its official blog post announced that the year-old app has been updated.

Android has updated its Google Fit app to include features like calorie count and estimating distance travelled by the user during their work outs.

The company on its official blog post announced that the year-old app has been updated keeping in mind the importance of achieving fitness goals by people. Google Fit will not just help count calories but will also keep a record of fitness activities by the user grouped by days, weeks or months. The timeline will help users to get a sense of how their fitness activities impact them over time, the blog post said.

The app is available on Google Play Store and all you need to do is enter you gender, weight and height to get it working.

Also, the update makes the app more user-friendly for those who use Android Wear watch as well. Google Fit displayed on the smart watch will now show the duration of the workout. In addition to this, a new Google Fit widget has also been introduced, which can be pinned onto the users smartphone home screen and will constantly remind them of their activity.
