Meta's cross-platform messaging service, WhatsApp, recently introduced a new feature that enabled users to link one account on up to four Android smartphones using companion mode and it is now being rolled out to Apple iPhone users. When companion mode is enabled, all the linked devices sync directly with the cloud, where, companion devices will receive text messages, multimedia, voice notes, and more even when the primary device is not connected to the internet. Keep in mind, if the primary device loses internet access for an extended duration, WhatsApp will automatically log out from the companion devices. The stable WhatsApp for iOS version 23.10.76 is currently being rolled out in phases. According to the changelog on the App Store, the update will be available for all eligible iPhone users within a week. These include GIF auto playback, the ability to link WhatsApp calls to the iOS calendar, and the option to save important messages while using the disappearing message feature. Users can visit the App Store, download the latest version for free, and experience the latest WhatsApp features on their iPhones. Users can simply follow the setup processor and then click on the "link this device to an existing account" and scan the barcode on the iPhone from the primary smartphone to add an iPhone as a companion device. We were able to install the latest version of WhatsApp for iOS on an iPhone. However, we were not able to use the companion feature, which is expected to roll out in the next few days.
