Apple, on Monday, at WWDC 2024, held at Apple Park, announced the next-generation operating system (OS) - visionOS 2 for the Vision Pro spatial computer, new features for AirPods Pro, Apple TV, watchOS 11 for Apple Watch, and macOS Sequoia for Macs. These OSes will be available for developers starting today, while the stable versions will be made available for consumers by September 2024. VisionOS 2 get new gestures, and mouse input With VisionOS 2, Apple is introducing new features for the Vision Pro, including the ability to create spatial photos and a new travel mode for trains. Additionally, the update adds capabilities such as a rearrangeable home view, new gestures, support for HealthKit, recent guest users, SharePlay for photos, and more. Vision Pro will now be available in more markets such as China, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Canada, the UK, France, and Germany, starting July 12. AirPods Pro Update AirPods Pro gains several new features, which, according to Apple, make them the "best earphones in the world." These include call isolation, which will isolate the user's voice from environmental noise to improve call quality, and personal spatial audio for gamers. Additionally, AirPods Pro users will be able to reject a call by simply shaking their heads. While using AirPods Pro for gaming, users can experience 16-bit, 48kHz audio high-resolution audio along with improved voice quality while chatting with other players. Apple tvOS Update Apple tvOS also receives new features such as InSight for Apple Originals, on-device Siri on Apple TV, and new Apple TV screen savers, including a Snoopy screen saver. InSight will offer information on the cast and music featured in Apple TV+ originals. When a user connects headphones or earphones, Apple TV will be able to enhance dialogue on TV, which also works with Bluetooth speakers. watchOS 11 adds new ability to Apple Watch watchOS 11 will introduce several new features on the Apple Watch, including a revamped Photos watch face customization feature. The company will also open up the double-tap API to third-party developers. Additionally, with the watchOS 11 update, the Apple Watch will gain new capabilities such as custom workouts for pool swims, training load tracking, translation, intelligent smart stack, interactive widgets, and the ability to pause activity rings. There are also other minor new features such as turn-by-turn hiking navigation, a new view for pregnancy, live activities, and enhanced ticketing capabilities in select markets. macOS Sequoia introduces better and tighter integration with the iPhone macOS Sequoia is adding new features to Apple Silicon-powered Macs, including wireless iPhone screen mirroring, the ability to check iPhone notifications on a Mac, automatic app window size adjustment, and a native password manager app. Additionally, Safari gets more private web browsing along with support for new text effects. For developers, macOS Sequoia offers Game Porting Toolkit 2, which makes it easier to port games to macOS. It also gets tappable emojis, a collection of photos, support for Apple Pay on third-party web browsers, and a bunch of generative AI capabilities on first-party apps such as Siri, Mail, and Messages.
