Zoho has introduced Rooms, a collaborative solution for its Cliq communication platform on the sidelines of Zoholics annual user conference held on Monday in Bengaluru. The new feature further enhances the collaborative capability of Cliq, Zoho’s all-in-one collaborative platform to take on the likes of Slack and Microsoft Teams. Sridhar Vembu, CEO and co-founder of Zoho Corp told IndianExpress.com that Zoho Cliq Rooms will work with any Android TV in the market, and the company is also working with OEM partners for customised solutions. Sridhar also announced that the Cliq platform has witnessed a 37 per cent growth in India, and it has also experienced a 30 per cent increase in user migration from platforms like MS Teams and Slack. Vembu added that Smart room technology is expensive, but Cliq Rooms makes it accessible to every business. The platform can support up to 1,000 active participants, 12,000 views for live events, 30,000 active participants in a channel, and up to 100,000 employees in an organisation. Zoho Cliq Rooms also allows users to connect their smartphones as audio/video devices. The platform also uses Zia, Zoho’s in-house AI technology, to set up reminders, summarise meetings, and also act as a writing assistant to help users proofread and craft messages within the Cliq platform. Besides the new conferencing capability, Cliq also gains additional features like low-code extensibility that allows programmers to build and run custom apps within the platform with up to 1 million rows of code. The custom database allows users to run apps without requiring any external server. It also has features like live translation for various Indian languages, and the platform offers a customizable user interface with support for Indian languages like Hindi, Kannada, and Tamil.
