If a smartphone has the same battery level even four days after you charged it last then there is something seriously right with it. The Lava Iris Fuel 60 is that kind of phone. No, I did not use it as my primary phone in the said period, but it had a SIM and was connected to the Wi-Fi, used occasionally to check mail and watch videos. So how does the Iris Fuel 60 manage this? Well, that must be the 4000 mAh battery at work. Specs: 5-inch HD IPS (720 x 1280p ~ 320 DPI) DISPLAY | 1.3 GHz Quad Core MediaTek MT6582 processor | 1GB RAM | 8GB internal storage, up to 32 GB external | 10MP front with 2MP rear | 4000 mAh battery | Android Kitkat 4.4 Price: Rs 8,888 Design: The phone has a 4000 mAh battery and that pretty much takes care of the design. Yes, the phone is large, heavy and bricky… more like a portable power pack than a phone. But it is a very practical design and has a rear flap that looks smart. User will have to get used to both the power and volume buttons being on the right side. Display: The Fuel 60 has a HD IPS display at 320 dpi, which is quite good for the price range. The screen has good viewing angles and you will not have any issues with this display. Performance: The Fuel 60 solves a great pain point with the battery and that is the primary intention of this phone. Otherwise it is a regular mid-range phone. So don’t expect wonders from the phone when it comes to performance. It will not disappoint you with day to day activity. It thankfully does not heat up and that is a good thing considering its bulk. Software: The software is almost stock Android. Thankfully there is no unnecessary bloatware in the phone and that is good coming from an Indian manufacturer. Camera: The 10MP rear camera is jsut about okay giving you decent photographs in good light and looking a bit lost in low light. Like in other Lava phones you can click by waving your hand before the front camera. But with the touch to focus option on the screen it becomes a bit difficult to access the other settings. The front camera is okay for video calls. Storage: The phone gives you under 5GB from the 8GB storage so you will need to buy a SD card right away. Battery: This is the biggest selling point of the phone and I think a lot of people will buy this phone just for this features. A lot of us are not bothered so much about the other features, they just need the phone to last the entire day, or more. With this phone, the battery will last two full days with regular use and much more if you use is sparingly or as a backup phone. What a full HD movie and the battery would have come down under 10 per cent. Verdict: The Lava Iris Fuel 60 is a decent Android phone with an amazing battery. You will buy this phone because you need a phone with a battery that goes on like the Duracell bunny. That is clearly the selling point of this phone.
